The following software programs are designed and sold by Management Planning Systems of Eugene, Oregon.
There are three sets of programs described below. All of these programs were designed for and are installed
in Water and Wastewater utilities. The Utility Manager also is being utilized by a power distribution utility.
The two commercial programs, MPS Scheduler and Utility Manager are available only through Management Planning System.
However, fully functional demos are available as downloads from this web site along with operation manuals for each
program In addition, the nine MPS Shareware programs are available as a single downloadable file from this web site.
The manuals for each of these shareware programs is downloadable as a pdf file.
System Requirements
All of these programs are designed to run on Windows 98, ME, XP, 2000 and NT. The downloadable files found on this web site are for Windows only. However, Mac OS X and Mac Classic versions are available from Management Planning Systems
MPS Scheduler

Water and Wastewater Asset Management System
by Management Planning Systems
The Water and Wastewater Asset Management System is a database designed with unique data entry screens for each major type of asset. Included are detail screens for pumps and motors. Fields are provided for all normal equipment name plate data, GPS corroborants for selected equipment, purchasing information, and operations data. With asset valve, life expectancy and date of purchase fields completed the program will produce a detailed depreciation schedule with remaining life and remaining value as well as depreciation.
Vendor information and spare part requirements can be tied to specific facilities and equipment. Complete with reports of depreciation, spare parts equipment for each facility and equipment as well as complete name plate data reports.

Work Order System

The Work Order system provides a simple means of generating and tracking labor, materials, and equipment usage and cost. Selecting form the 19 built-in work order types allows easy customizing. Ability to customize standard reports. Reporting includes backlog of work, completed work, scheduled work, summary and detail by account, facility, equipment, customers, crew, problem, and status. Includes special screens for tracking customer history and new service installations.
A great tool for assisting in managing repair crews and analyzing
and controlling repair cost.

Purchase Requisitions
by Management Planning Systems
The Purchase Request System provides a simple means of generating and maintaining purchase requisitions. Provides an easy means of providing monthly cost reporting by account number, date, vendor, initiator of PR, and much more. Tracking fields provided for PO number, check number, invoice number, actual amount paid, etc.. Includes screens for managing vendor information including discounts. PRs automatically linked to vendor history screen.
Can allow discounts to be automatically calculated. When coupled with the Central PR system can accommodate electronic transfer for PR data to a central site. (Central PR system is available from Management Planning Systems)

Personnel, PPE and Training
by Management Planning Systems

The Personnel, PPE and Training database provides a simple but complete
method of tracking personnel information, issue of personal protective equipment
(PPE), safety inspections, and training completed for each individual. Training
activities are entered into a separate screen and then assigned to each
individual by selecting from a pick list. Includes data fields for personal
information, evaluation date, and pay rate. Reporting capabilities provide
clear documentation that can be used to support an evaluation. Provides
detailed and summary reports of all training, PPE issued and inspection
conducted. Reports can be for a single individual or group. Employ badges
can also be produced from this database.

Inventory Control
by Management Planning Systems

The Spare Parts Inventory Control System was designed to allow easy maintenance of consumable inventory. The program tracks the status of current on-hand quantities against user defined maximum
and minimum inventory levels. On-hand quantity is automatically adjusted through issue and receipts screens. Hard copies of issue and receipts can be printed to provide a clean audit trail. Inventory value is based on current price. However, the price can be manually adjusted.
Reporting includes summary and detail by activity, by person, by status, by work order, and by vendor. In action, receipts and issue slip reports by summary and detail are also availabe.

Force Account System
by Management Planning Systems

The Force Account System was originally designed to provide progress and cost tracking to a sewage collection system expansion. While some of the reporting is specific to collection systems the system has been successfully used to track cost with water distribution system expansion. The database requires initial input of line segments, crew, equipment, and materials. Once entered the development of daily logs is simplified by the use of pick list of all previously entered data. Provides detail reports for cost and work load analysis. Allows separation of cost by individual customers services and line segment with and without customer services. You are able to separate labor, materials, and equipment cost.

Building Asset Management System

The Building Asset Management System is a database designed with unique data entry screens for each major type of building asset. Included are detail screens for roofing, interior walls, exterior walls, flooring, doors, windows, door locks, and grounds, heating/AC, Electrical/Lighting, Plumbing, tools, pumps, motors, and rolling stock.

Bid Request
by Management Planning Systems

The Bid Request System is designed to simplify the process of obtaining bids from a number of
vendors or repeatedly from the same vendors. Vendor information is entered
into the vendor file, and material entered into the materials screen.
Once generated the vendor information and materials are selected from
pick list simplifying the development of a bid request. In addition, each
request is maintained in the database allowing easy retrieval for comparisons.

The Utility Manager

The Utility Manager is an integrated package containing all of the functions needed to manager a water, wastewater, or power distribution utility. Included are; asset management, work orders, purchase requisitions, complete inventory control, project tracking, preventive maintenance scheduling. Provides complete history of all activities and reporting capabilities that are nearly unlimited. If you are seeking a single program to handle all of your maintenance management activities this is it.
